RSVP for MADRE's event:

How Grassroots Feminists are Breaking the Cycle of Conflict and Climate Disaster

Climate breakdown is fueling armed conflict, just as the violence of war creates obstacles to effective climate action and more sustainable ways of living. Moreover, these overlapping crises are erasing advances for gender justice and the human rights of women and girls. Feminist peacebuilders and climate defenders worldwide, particularly from rural and Indigenous communities, are taking action to confront these intersecting threats. This event will explore how to tangibly support community-based interventions that interrupt cycles of conflict and climate disaster and how to work with partners leading these grassroots efforts to shape policy recommendations from the local to global levels.

The panel of MADRE's grassroots partners will include:

Heleena Kakar from Afghanistan

Otilia Lux de Coti from Guatemala

Paine Eulalia Mako from Tanzania

Pratima Gurung from Nepal
